TalkTalk Hacked & Customer Data Stolen
British ISP TalkTalk have suffered an attack on their systems and up to 4 million sets of customer data is reported to have been stolen.
The attack occurred on Wednesday (21st October 2015). The police have been informed and the company says that they are investigating to find out what data was taken.
The data could have included:
- Dates of birth
- Email addresses
- Telephone numbers
- TalkTalk account information
- Credit card details and/or bank details
What can you do if you are a customer of TalkTalk?
Keep an eye on your accounts over the next few months. If you see anything unusual, please contact your bank and Action Fraud as soon as possible. Action Fraud can be reached on 0300 123 2040 or via www.actionfraud.police.uk
Be wary of anyone calling you and claiming to be from TalkTalk. They my be fraudsters. Do not give any personable details to them, even if they are able to tell you things about your account to ‘prove’ they are from TalkTalk.
